Is Micro-Needling Worth It for You?

Three female friends smiling and embracing each other

Micro-needling is a technique that many people still are not entirely sure about. The benefits are clearly stated, though the positive impact of the practice simply is not the same for every single individual who has it done. If you would like to know whether or not micro-needling is right for you, read on.

Basics of Micro-Needling

Micro-needling is a process which is designed to rejuvenate the skin. Another name for it is collagen induction therapy. It is relatively low-key, as it is only minimally invasive. The professional takes fine needles and makes little punctures on the client’s skin, at the very top layer. This is meant to cause the person’s body to make new elastin and collagen.

The act of performing micro-needling may seem a bit daunting. After all, most people are not exactly too keen on the idea of needles being placed in their skin. However, you can conduct some research and see that it is not harmful and has served many individuals well over the years.

The Results of a Micro-Needling Session

When you have a cosmetic doctor perform micro-needling, there is a wide range of advantages that are afforded to you. For one thing, you should experience an improvement in firmness and texture of your skin. You also should see a reduction in the size of your pores, as well as a decrease in scars and stretch marks. You will not be able to believe how amazing it can make your skin look and feel.

Combination Treatments

The use of a topical treatment along with the micro-needling technique can bring about even more benefits. One such treatment is platelet-rich plasma. This is designed to aid in improving your skin’s tone, texture, and firmness. You also can have another type of serum that is high in vitamins applied to your skin.

Possible Issues

Micro-needling can be a bit uncomfortable, especially if you are not used to it. You should know that a numbing cream is applied to the person’s face before it is begun. This greatly reduces the discomfort, so the procedure can go as smoothly as possible.

Something else that you will need to be mindful of is the fact that you likely will have to stay out of the sun for a little while after you have received a micro-needling treatment. It can leave skin somewhat red at first as an immediate reaction. Though this can be bothersome, it should go back to normal within a short period of time.

All in all, micro-needling is an intriguing and innovative means of making your skin look and feel wonderful. If you have any concerns, speak to a medical professional at Pacific Vein Care in McHenry today and find out if it could be an ideal procedure for you.
