Varithena Foam Sclerotherapy

The beautiful smooth and tan legs of a woman in her undergarments

If you struggle with varicose veins that are visible on the surface of skin, and cause uncomfortable symptoms, you may be familiar with the many treatments out there for eliminating  them. However, there’s not necessarily a one-size-fits-all treatment for any given situation or patient. If you are searching for a remedy for eliminating your unwanted varicose veins, Varithena Foam Sclerotherapy is an effective treatment with minimal invasion for successfully diminishing problematic veins.

What is Varithena Foam Sclerotherapy?

This is an innovative and non-invasive treatment that combines two facets of successful vein removal including guided ultrasound, as well as injectable micro-foam medication. This specialized remedy successfully diminishes visible veins- revealing an even complexion and restored comfort. Varithena Foam Sclerotherapy is FDA-approved for the treatment of varicose veins, and for eliminating uncomfortable symptoms associated with problem vascular veins.

Benefits

There are many benefits that Varithena Foam Sclerotherapy can offer including:

  • Quick non-surgical treatments
  • No  required down time
  • Correct reflux in saphenous veins
  • Treat bulging veins
  • Relief from itching, throbbing, and aching
  • Alleviate uncomfortable symptoms
  • Achieve an even and vein-free complexion
  • And more!

How Does it Work?

Treatments are performed using guided ultrasound, which is used to deliver the specialized sclerosing foam to the visible varicose veins with rapid absorption. To begin treatment, the area is first numbed. Once numb, a tiny needle or catheter tube is gently inserted into the problematic area. The Varithena foam is then channeled into the targeted veins using ultrasound guidance. Once delivered, treatments work to displace the varicose vein and cause it to collapse. Once the vein is collapsed, the pooled blood within the vein is redirected upward and absorbed by surrounding healthy veins that can facilitate the enhanced blood flow.

The processes is quick and typically takes about 30 minutes to complete. Most patients are able to return to their daily routines without any required down time. There are post-treatment instructions provided that must be followed in order to ensure optimal results.

The first step to determining if you are a proper candidate for treatment is by scheduling a consultation with one of our specialists here at Pacific Vein Care.
