Micro-needling for dark spots and wrinkle reduction

Brunette with pulled up hair and beige silk top smiling at you

Dark spots typically cause a lot of people to feel self-conscious most of the times since they feel exposed and watched. Hyperpigmentation is usually caused by hormonal changes, aging, exposure to the sun or medication. You don’t have to live with these spots. Micro-needling is the most efficient way of treating imbalances in pigmentation.

How does micro-needling work?

When melanin is produced unevenly throughout the skin, hyperpigmentation occurs. Excess melanin means that there will be an appearance of dark spots on the skin. The irregularity may be as a result of cuts, acne or sunburns. These dark spots are stubborn, they usually become more visible with time instead of fading away. As a person ages, their skin stops producing new cells, causing old cells build up over time it gives the skin a dull appearance.

Micro-needling can give the skin an ideal boost to revive its growth process. Micro-needling entails the use of a pen that stimulates the body’s natural regenerative process. Collagen and elastin production is increased, giving the skin additional strength and elasticity. The old layer of the skin is quickly shed, making room for the new, healthy skin. Since this process triggers the process, your skin will continue to clear and improve in the weeks following your treatment.

The skin usually starts to respond after the first session. However, micro-needling procedure usually requires multiple sessions with gaps of four-eight weeks between each session. At the end of the whole treatment, your skin will be firm, rejuvenated and spot free.

Why micro needling?

This treatment is chemical free, allowing the body to remove the spots naturally instead of applying chemicals or undergoing cosmetic surgery. The results of micro-needling treatment are also long-lasting, allowing you to see results for months after your procedure. There is no downtime required for this treatment that works on all skin types and for various skin problems.

Patients who have had micro-needling have noted that fine lines, dark spots as well as wrinkles diminish significantly in the following months after treatment. Patients with scars usually notice that their scars are less visible and are more normally colored. If you want your dark spots or fine lines dealt with, contact us today at Pacific Vein Care in McHenry, Il, and book an appointment for your micro-needling treatment. Our talented staff is ready to help you start the journey to skin rejuvenation.
